How to Create An Action Plan
If you are the kind of person who thinks and talks about your goals and dreams, but yet seem to make little progress towards them, this is the article you need to digest at this season of your life.
I think dreaming big goals are wonderful! Everyone should take some time daily to daydream about all the things they desire in life- all the way from careers to homes to relationships. In fact, the law of attraction asserts that what you put your focus on, you are attracting, so the more focus you put on your goals and dreams, the more resources, tools, knowledge, assistance, and people that will help you reach them will spiral into your existence.
Write down your goals.
One of the biggest reasons why people do not reach their goals is that they do not write them down and they do not create an action plan to achieve them. Successful men and women will tell you right up front that they believe writing down their visions and dreams plays a key part in their success. They did not just aimlessly go from day to day with random thoughts about success, but they purposefully created their goals and wrote them down.
In fact, a 1979 study by Harvard University revealed that graduates who wrote down their goals were much more successful than those who did not. In the study, 3 percent of students wrote down their goals, 13 percent had goals but did not write them down, and 84 percent had no goals in mind. Ten years later a follow up study was performed and the results showed that the 3 percent who had written down goals were 10 times more successful than ALL of the others. That is significant!
Think about your goals. Take a day, two, or a week to really decide upon what you want in your life and write it down. Go one step further and put your goal list in a place that you will see daily. Post it on your refrigerator, your bathroom mirror, on a wall beside your bed, the dashboard of your car, and in your office. The more often you see them, the more motivated you will be to work toward achieving them.
Create an action plan.
Here is the second reason why many people fail to reach their goals: They do not create and follow an action plan. Having a goal is wonderful but if you do not have a clue how to move toward its achievement, you’ll be sadly disappointed.
Once you’ve written your goals down, create steps toward achieving those goals. Some goals you may be able to achieve in little time and others may take years. Some goals, such as, “love my spouse unconditionally” will be continual.
Maybe you want to become District Manager of your company. What do you need to do in order for that to happen? Write it all down. Want to open your own business? Write out every step that you need in order to make that a reality. If you don’t know what to do, perform some research on the internet, purchase books and resources that will teach you, or hire a Life Coach that will assist you and keep you accountable. I guarantee you that whatever your goal is, there are people who have already attained that goal and a great deal of information is in print to assist you in doing the same.
Once you have written down your goals and created action plans to achieve them, it’s time to TAKE ACTION. Faith plus action will get you where you want to go. Yes, visualization is important. Yes, positive affirmations are important, but all of that without action won’t necessarily get you to where you want to be. Action is important! Action created forward momentum and all of these together get the law of attraction working in your favor! As you do your part, the law of attraction acts like a boomerang and brings many positive things into your life to aid you along the way.
Friends, I want you to dream big dreams and create goals that will make you feel happy and fulfilled. Write them down, look at them daily, create action plans, and get moving. Do what it takes to keep yourself motivated. I truly believe that you can be and do anything that you want!
